History of Grama Panchayat
Vilavoorkal Grama Panchayat is Situated in the vicinity of Mookkunnimalai and Vellayani Lake, this panchayat still has some relics that evoke memories of the past. The first school in this panchayat, Vilavoorkal Govt. L.P. School, is about eight decades old. The MGM Library was established in 1953. The main places of worship in the panchayat area are the Thevikonam Sree Easwara Kalabhootanath Temple, the Pottayil Chellamangalam Kunnuvila Devi Temple, the Peyadu Amman Kovil Temple, the Choozhattukotta Thampuran Temple, and the Sreekandan Shastha Temple. The main roads here are the Malayinkeezhu-Pappanamcode road and the Kundamonbhagam-Malayinkeezhu road, which were tarred in 1966-67.
