Operation Toofan 2.0
Operation Toofan 2.0 is part of a people-centered anti-drug awareness and prevention campaign aimed at preventing drug use and the distribution of narcotic substances. The major objectives of the programme are to create awareness among youth and students about the harmful effects of drug abuse, prevent the use and distribution of narcotic substances, bring suspicious activities to the attention of the concerned authorities, and ensure the cooperation of families, educational institutions, and the wider community.
Everyone has an important role to play in building a healthy, safe, and drug-free society. Responsible participation and collective action are essential for achieving this goal.
The Panchayat-level inauguration of Operation Toofan 2.0 was conducted on 28 September 2026 by the President of Vilavoorkkal Grama Panchayat. The programme included the hoisting of the flag, selection of Toofan Warriors, an awareness session, and the administration of the anti-drug pledge.
At the ward level, the programme was attended by ward members, elected representatives, ASHA workers, Haritha Karma Sena members, Anganwadi workers, Panchayat-level officials, school student representatives, and other community members.
The active participation of various sections of the community reflects the collective commitment to preventing drug abuse and creating a safe, healthy, and drug-free society.
